What Are Your Strengths?

Before we can assess where we are on our journey or if we are on the right path or what we want to be “when we grow up,” we need to first pick up a mirror and take a cold hard look.

Not at the wrinkles or stray hairs – but really look beyond the physical to your true inner self. As you look in the mirror ask yourself:

  • What are my strengths?
  • What makes me special?
  • What value do I provide?
  • Why are people drawn to me?
  • What experiences have I had that make my knowledge unique?

In the book by Robin Fisher Roffer, Make a Name for Yourself-Eight Steps Every Woman Needs to Create a Personal Brand Strategy for Success, she starts by having the reader ask three people in their lives, that they trust, to share a few phrases that would describe their value.

What we see in the mirror can be different from how others see us.  You might be surprised.

As we head down this journey together to become a purposeful woman, today we must draw a line in the sand and say “Thank goodness for all that has come before. Thank goodness for the decisions I have made, the people I’ve met and the experiences I have had. For all these things that have made me who I am today.”

Now going forward, from this moment on, I want to play to my strengths. I want to emphasize all of those traits that make me a unique woman.

Ask your friends and family and close co-workers – just what are those strengths? Look in the mirror and ask yourself the same question. Remind yourself of your strengths each morning when you are getting ready to take on the world, “I am here for a reason and will find ways to play to my strengths.”

It is by relying on those strengths and unique traits that we can move forward toward a more purpose-filled life!

Once you’ve thought this through – come back here and share – or visit us on Facebook and tell the world what your strengths are!  We spend so many minutes and so much energy berating ourselves for all we aren’t – now is the time to raise a glass and fist bump the air in great celebration overall that we are!!!
