The world lost a leader, an inspiration to all things that are possible this last week when Steve Jobs passed away. On Twitter three of the ten top trending topics were about Steve and his gifts to the world. iSad being the simplest and yet most profound trending topic of them all.
I was drawn to reread and watch the graduation speech he so famously delivered to the graduating class of 2005 at Stanford University. In his speech, just 15 minutes in length, he told three powerful stories to the students and faculty to help them as they prepare for life.
“Death is very likely the single best invention of Life.”
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’e life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of their opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
So true. So profound. Where does your heart lead you? What does your intuition tell you? Follow that path. Make that dream your new reality.
