I was thrilled to see new after-school STEM programs in Brecksville/Broadview Heights Schools that work to engage more 4th and 5th grade girls! Thanks Classroom Antics for your help and expertise.
This is something I wish all schools would embrace so that we can introduce our girls to the exciting opportunities available to them in STEM careers.
Classroom Antics offers six different four-week modules that explore a different career avenue for those interested in STEM:
Module 1: Amazing Architects – Building our infrastructure
Module 2: Maker M.D. – Medicine and human anatomy
Module 3: The Power of Green – Environmental engineering
Module 4: Code Breakers – Behind the scenes of computer coding
Module 5: Space Odyssey – Let’s go to space
Module 6: Get Charged! – All about electricity
the “t” in STEM isn’t just about writing computer code. There are so many different options that our young people can explore that will lead to productive and profitable careers in the future.
As parents we have so many options that are available to our children and hopefully workshops like those available from Classroom Antics will be available as a regular part of the elementary curriculum.
A huge thanks to the STEM and Curriculum team at BBH Schools along with the sponsorship of Central BBH School Principal and Vice Principal. Brecksville Broadview Hts City School District High School for making these programs available in our local area.
