In the wake of Nelson Mandela’s passing, many are coming forward to share their memories, thoughts, prayers and insights into how he impacted their lives and the lives of hundreds of thousand others.

He championed peace and equality, overcoming fears and reaching to make dreams a reality. He set an example that generations have and will continue to learn from and will be remembered for his greatness.

He broke down boundaries, defied stereotypes, met and inspired other world leaders.

His impact on politics in America and around the world are legendary. As President Obama said “He no longer belongs to us,” Obama said. “He belongs to the ages.”

For those of you who wake up each day and don’t believe you can make a difference, that it can only be done by a village, please keep Nelson Mandela in your heart. Remember his leadership, his example, his faith and then believe in your heart that you do matter. You can make a difference. You can take a single step and create a domino effect for a cause you believe in.
