The Role Men Need to Have to Advance Women to Leadership

If companies are going to advance women to leadership positions, the men in the organization need to play an active part. That was the crux of my dinner conversation with Gender Strategist, Jeffery Tobias Halter.

img_1029I have been following Jeffery since I read his recent book: WHY WOMEN The Leadership Imperative to Advancing Women and Engaging Men.

I resonate with Jeffery’s approach. His book is the first business book by a man that I have read that shares specifics on how organizations can effectively harness their most valuable asset – women!

We spent much of our time together comparing studies, statistics and action based strategies to leverage and embrace the gender difference in the workplace with a desire to encourage more men to pull women into leadership positions.

Jeffery and I both realize first hand that to advance women to top leadership roles men must be actively engaged in the process. Through extensive research and best practices, Jeffery works with executives in Fortune 500 companies, to create Integrated Women’s Leadership Strategies from the top down.

Jeffery’s message boils down to the three main reasons to invest, encourage and support women in leadership.

Three simple reasons to invest in women

  • grow revenue
  • improve operating profit
  • enhance company reputation.

Each of these benefits is reason enough for the male leadership to embrace a more gender diverse leadership team.

On a personal note, Jeffery is the father of a daughter and feels strongly about the importance of raising women who are strong, confident and capable. In fact, he has created the Father of a Daughter Initiative – a pledge that fathers can take to remain diligently focused on supporting their daughter as they grow in to women in the workplace.

I appreciate his endorsement for my new book, Accelerate Your Impact, and I am looking forward to collaborating with Jeffery in the future as we work to advance professionals within their career trajectories!
